Parent Views

We value the voice of every parent in our school community, which is why we conduct parent surveys twice each academic year. These surveys are an important opportunity for families to share their experiences, highlight what is working well, and suggest areas where we can improve. The feedback we receive plays a vital role in shaping our decisions, from enhancing teaching and learning to improving communication, wellbeing support, and school facilities. By carefully reviewing and acting on survey responses, we ensure that our school continues to grow in a way that reflects the needs and expectations of both pupils and their families.

Summary of the Summer Term Parent Survey 2025: 

Thank you to all the parents who completed the survey, your feedback is invaluable. 
Parents said: 

The school manages behaviour well

- Don’t know - the child can’t inform us as non-verbal 

 

When I have raised concerns with the school, they have been dealt with properly

-FLO and Pastoral leaders helped me a lot.

 

The school lets me know how my child is doing

-Communication is hit and miss. Good at times and poor at others

 

I would recommend Heron Academy to another parent:

-Heron changed my son's life

-We’d recommend based on the wonderful LSA our daughter has, but frequent changes to the class teacher and these not being communicated to us mean we’re less likely to recommend.

 

We did: 

Regarding communication, SLT expects that all parents will receive communication from the class at least three times a week (this frequency may be increased upon request). As this is not always happening, SLT will increase monitoring of all communication. We kindly ask that all parents sign up for the Arbor app, as all communication will be sent through this platform. 

In regard to new teachers, We will inform families as soon as teachers leave and ensure that new teachers introduce themselves on arrival.
