Parental Support
We offer support to all families through our dedicated class staff and, more specifically, via the Family Liaison Officer, who is able to signpost parents and carers to other sources of help. We encourage parents and carers to share any worries or concerns they may have at the earliest opportunity so that, together, we can improve the situation for the child in question.
Heron Academy additional support in the form of a social worker through the Early help of Social service  in Lambeth borough. The social worker is specifically deployed to support parents and carers.
Throughout the year, we run a series of workshops tailored to the needs and wants of parents and carers within our community. Most of the times these led by external guests, therapists and other experts.

Help if You Have a Disabled Child (Gov.uk)
Your local council can provide help if you have a disabled child, including:
  • Short break services
  • Holiday play schemes
  • Care at home
  • Some aids and adaptations
  • Financial help, e.g. money towards travel costs for hospital visits
Your council has a duty to provide these services under the Children Act 1989. Some services are free of charge, but the council may ask you to contribute towards others. If you think your child may qualify, contact the social services team at your local council.

Staying Safe Online
Staying safe online is an important part of keeping children safe at Woodside Academy. We have extensive security measures in place, monitored both internally and externally, to safeguard pupils from potential dangers or unsuitable material.

We are a Young Minds Hero!

We are here to ensure that children and young people receive the best possible mental health support and develop the resilience to overcome life’s difficulties.
