Gift to the Future by The Soutbank Centre

Pupils from Heron Academy recently visited the Southbank Centre to take part in the inspiring "Poetry from Classrooms Across the UK – Imagine the Future" project. Through this creative opportunity, our pupils explored their hopes, dreams, and ideas about the future, working together to create a poem that reflected their unique voices and perspectives.

As part of the project, the poem was transformed into a public art installation at the Southbank Centre. The numbers linked to each line of the poem were displayed across the walls and floors of the venue, inviting visitors to explore the space and discover the pupils' words in a creative and interactive way.

The experience gave our pupils a wonderful opportunity to engage with the arts, develop their communication and creative skills, and see their work shared with a wider audience. We are incredibly proud of their achievement and delighted that their voices became part of such a meaningful and inspiring project. Well done to everyone who took part!
