Heron Academy A member of the Attachment Research Community

Heron Academy - A member of the Attachment Research Community

We are delighted to announce that, as of November 2025, our organisation is an official member of The Attachment Research Community (ARC). This membership reflects our ongoing commitment to supporting the emotional and relational needs of children, young people, and adults in our care.

The Attachment Research Community is a charitable organisation dedicated to promoting attachment‑aware and trauma‑aware practice across educational settings and professional networks. ARC brings together schools, learning institutions, psychologists, and higher education professionals to share expertise, resources, and strategies that help everyone thrive.

As members of ARC, we commit to:

  • Promoting inclusion and preventing exclusion, ensuring all individuals feel valued and supported.

  • Developing effective strategies to support children and adults, tailored to their emotional and relational needs.

  • Providing high-quality training for our staff to embed attachment-aware practice in everyday work.

  • Sharing learning with the wider ARC network, contributing to a collaborative culture of reflection and professional growth.

  • Working safely and with supervision, prioritising wellbeing and ethical practice at every level.

Membership of the ARC provides us with access to a wealth of tools, workshops, events, and resources, all designed to strengthen attachment and trauma-aware practice. It also allows us to collaborate with a national network of professionals who share a common goal: to ensure every child and adult experiences secure, supportive relationships.

Being part of ARC aligns perfectly with our mission to create an inclusive, safe, and nurturing environment for everyone in our setting. We are proud to bring the principles of attachment awareness into our daily practice and to share our learning with the wider community.
