Police Careers Workshop

Pupils at Heron Academy recently took part in an exciting  careers workshop led by visiting police officers. The session gave pupils the opportunity to learn more about the important role the police play in our community.

During the workshop, pupils explored what police officers do to help keep people safe. They were introduced to different aspects of the job, including how officers support the public, respond to emergencies and work together as a team.

A highlight of the session was learning about the police uniform and equipment. Pupils were able to see and handle a range of items, helping them to better understand their purpose. This hands-on experience supported pupils’ curiosity and engagement, with many asking questions and sharing their ideas.

The workshop provided a valuable opportunity to build pupils’ understanding of the wider world, while also supporting communication and interaction skills in a meaningful and engaging context.
